Way 2 - In touch with your community
We are hosting an open online space where you can have a conversation.
We will be hosting an open space twice a week where you can meet new people and build relationships. We know how important new connections with people are and we want to help facilitate a sense of belonging in the people from across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Thursday 17th September
Way 3 – Get in touch
We are going to be running live online movement sessions all focused around touch.
Self-empowerment, respect and confidence. Simple movement using your hands to touch, place and hold.
These sessions will help you to understand how to get in touch with yourself and value these connections when you’re faced with others.
First online session:
Tuesday 29th September
Nominate somebody for a chat
If you know somebody whom you think would benefit from a conversation but hasn't got the digital means of doing so, we would love to have a socially-distance chat with them in-person at there nearest convenience.
This chat could be in a local park, over a cup of tea in a cafe or organised to be safely delivered at there home.
Nominate them using the button below.
Please get their permission before doing so.
‘in touch’ is a Coventry community project aimed at hosting conversations with people and building a connecting with those who have been in isolation since the start of lockdown.
‘in touch’ is about rediscovering the bonds between people that Covid-19 has dissolved. Touch is most fundamental to being human; we want to listen to your stories and help start the work to repair a sense of belonging.
Will look to use our experience in movement to help people get back in touch with themselves as well as others.
This invitation is open to everyone, and we are particularly interested in connecting with people who are:
Who are or have been in solitary isolation. (None or extremely limited external connections)
People who are/were unable to see partners or loved one
People with newborns or children under 1 year old.
Single Parents and sole carers
People whose first language isn’t English
People from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds.
We hope to be able to host a number of sessions aimed at personal expressions and conversations. We hope to facilitate simple movement tasks so you can connect with yourself and share stories and experiences.
Please don’t be intimated by movement, these tasks will be optional and will be able to be delivered whilst sitting down. We are really interested in opening a conversation around these themes.
If you are interested in being a part of this new project or would like to nominate somebody who you think would be interested, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org and mention ‘in touch’ in the email subject heading.
This project is free and is all about building connections with different community sectors in Coventry & Warwickshire.
