#CREATEITSHAREIT

#CreateItShareIt was our brand new digital project in response to COVID-19

#CreateItShareIt is OPEN TO ALL (yes even you Nan and Grandad).

Every week, for 14 weeks, we set a task for our online audience to complete. They then sent in their responses and we created a small montage of what EVERYONE has created to share with the world!

Attached below are ALL the tasks we set so you can revisit them to inspire your movement creativity at any time. Read our instruction cards, watch our introduction/demonstration videos and view all the outcomes if you are looking for more inspiration. ENJOY!

In January 2021, the UK went into a 2nd national lockdown and so we went again with 6 more weeks of #CreateItShareIt for everybody to enjoy.

Week 1 - Dance to Music

Music can really help to lift your mood. This track is one of our favourites. Have a go at seeing what movement you can come up with to this popular Ascension Dance track.

Week 2 - Bed-ography

Your bed is great for sleeping, but did you know it can also be great for dancing. Take some time to see what interesting dance possibilities can be made using your bed as your stage. Be safe and make sure you are working carefully.

Week 3 - Watch it, Learn it, Share it

Time to learn something from the Ascension Dance team. Watch the video and learn some movement from Ascension Dancer, Ben. See if you can add more onto the end or be inspired by what you have learnt.

Week 4 - Everybody Dance Now

Find somebody in your house, in your classroom or online that you can dance with. See what you can make when you have a second person who you can groove with!!

Week 5 - Cup-ography

Time to use a prop to help stir your creative juices. Grab a cup and play with how you can move it to create a short dance. Be experimental, everything you do is right!

Week 6 - Rise & Shine

Anything can inspire movement, even the most mundane daily tasks. This task takes your morning routine and gives it a lease of life. Think about some of the things you do in the morning and see if you can make one of them into a dance. It could be brushing your teeth, eating or breakfast or getting out to bed.

Week 7 - Rainbow Dance

To say thank you the NHS and Key workers for all the hard work they undertook through the coronavirus Pandemic, we want to do something inspired by colour and rainbows. Find your brightest clothes and get moving and shaking in a celebration of the brilliant key workers keeping us all safe. If you're struggling for ideas, use rainbows as a starting point to create movement.

Week 8 - Chair Dance

Ascension Dance love to use set when making choreography and now it's your turn to have a go at creating a dance using a chair. Experiment with what new possibilities there are whilst working on this structure and get creative with its possibilities. Please make sure you're working sensibly and choose a chair that is sturdy.
