CALL OUT FOR COMPANY APPRENTICE
Ascension Dance Company is looking for a Company Apprentice based in the West Midlands to take part in our Outdoor Show ‘The Other Side’.
Applications from outside the West Midlands will still be considered but we cannot reimburse travel or accommodation costs.

Ascension Dance Company is looking for a Company Apprentice to join us through the next stage of ‘The Other Side’. It would be an opportunity to be immersed in a professional environment, train with the company and collaborators, as well as shadow a member of the cast to learn one of the roles in the piece. We are looking for someone with contemporary dance technique, stage presence and are comfortable working with set in an outdoor setting
If you are comfortable with heights, love the outdoors, enjoy camping and are local to the West Midlands then this callout is for you!

We do not require a minimum of 3 years of professional performance experience, but we do desire formal dance training. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
​
We encourage applications from dancers of all ethnicities and cultural backgrounds particularly;

Company Apprentice Call Out Brief

Submit a video (30s - 2 minutes) of you working outdoors on a piece of set. (Bench, wall, rail, tree etc)​

What experience do you have working or performing in an outdoor setting?

Briefly talk about examples of how you've professionally had to adapt to new surroundings?

Can you give us examples of when you've had to work collaboratively in a professional setting?

Outdoors (on foam flooring)

With large pieces of set to be moved by the performers

Camping and performing outdoors as part of some tour dates
Applicants do not need but would benefit from having experience in one of the following disciplines;
